Pupil Leadership

Head Boy & Head Girl

At St. George’s Cathedral Catholic Primary School, our Head Boy and Head Girl are chosen to be role models for the entire school community. They are pupils who consistently demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and leadership, and who live out our school values in everything they do.

What We Do

The Head Boy and Head Girl play an important part in school life. They represent the school at key events, help lead assemblies, and support younger pupils throughout the year. They work closely with staff and pupils to promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming visitors and representing the school at special occasions.
  • Supporting school initiatives and helping organise events.
  • Acting as ambassadors for our school values.
  • Listening to pupils and helping share their ideas with staff.

They lead by example and inspire others to be the best they can be—both in learning and in faith.

School Council

At St. George’s Cathedral Catholic Primary School, our School Council is made up of pupils who have been elected by their classmates to represent the views of all children across the school. We are proud to be a voice for our peers and to work together to make our school the best it can be.

What We Do

We are a proactive and thoughtful School Council. We listen carefully to the ideas and concerns of our classmates, and we work hard to make positive changes. Through our weekly meetings, we learn how to present arguments, discuss solutions, and take action to improve school life.

We regularly:

  • Hold weekly meetings to share ideas and plan actions.
  • Gather feedback and suggestions from our classes.
  • Report back to our classmates to keep everyone informed.
  • Work on projects that help make our school a happier, safer, and more inclusive place.

We believe that every pupil’s voice matters—and we’re here to make sure it’s heard.

Spiritual Life Committee

The Spiritual Life Committee at St. George’s Cathedral Catholic Primary School is made up of pupils who are passionate about nurturing the faith life of our school community. We are chosen to help promote our Catholic values and to support the spiritual development of all pupils.

What We Do

We play an important role in helping our school grow in faith, love, and service. Through regular meetings and activities, we work together to deepen our understanding of the Gospel and to encourage others to live out our mission.

We regularly:

  • Help plan and lead liturgies, assemblies, and prayer services.
  • Support the celebration of key events in the Church calendar.
  • Encourage acts of kindness, charity, and reflection across the school.
  • Share ideas from our classmates about how to grow spiritually as a community.

We believe that faith is at the heart of everything we do—and we’re proud to help make our school a place where everyone feels God's love.
